Opening our plant to students and schools means investing in skills and in the local community, while offering a close-up look at how a book is made and the professional expertise behind it. It is also an opportunity to bring younger generations closer to reading culture at a stage in life when interest is strongest and can still be nurtured. In Italy, for example, the share of readers reaches 57.1 percent among 11- to 14-year-olds, before gradually declining with age.
From concept to finished book
We welcome each group in the meeting room, where we introduce Grafica Veneta and explain what happens when an editorial idea becomes a book. We focus on the people and skills involved in every stage, highlighting the collective effort behind the process.
We then guide students through the heart of the plant, following the path that leads to the creation of each copy. Along the way, we show how precision, organization and attention to detail come together every day to turn a project into a finished product ready to reach readers. Once the tour is over, we take time to listen to questions and impressions, gathering students’ thoughts and helping them connect what they have seen with their studies, career guidance and everyday life.
This combination of introduction and on-site tour helps students understand the full journey of a book and the different stages and roles involved in bringing it to life.
